5 Salt Lake City Area 4th Of July Events

The 4th of July is always such a fun day to celebrate our nation's history. And there is never a shortage of events here in Salt Lake City for joining in those celebration. Today I've compiled a list of some of the activities around the valley. It's by no means exhaustive, but there is definitely something for everyone.

1. Magna's Small Town Big 4th

Magna may be a small town, but they know how to throw a good party. Their celebration includes a 5k, Cannonade, Lions Club Breakfast, a parade, games and inflatables, live music and Fireworks. Here's a link for more info:

2. Salt Lake City Fireworks

In Salt Lake City there are two parks that offer fireworks. The first is hosted by the City at Jordan Park. And the second is at Sugarhouse Park. My family typically ends up at the Sugarhouse Park event. My husband and I have been watching the fireworks there since we were dating so it's become a bit of a tradition for us.

3. Salt Lake Bees Baseball Independence Day Celebration

The Salt Lake Bees are celebrating a day early. They play Las Vegas on July 3rd and will end the game with their biggest fireworks display of the season.

4. Riverton Town Days

The city of Riverton also puts on a good celebration. It's a two-day celebration starting July 3rd that includes a parade, running events, a chuck wagon breakfast, swimming contests, games, a rodeo and, of course, fireworks.

5. Mountain Resort Celebrations

If you love the 4th, but want a break from the heat, you can also head up to some of the mountain resorts for their celebrations. There are activities at Snowbird, Deer Valley, The Canyons and the town of Park City.

There is definitely something thing for everyone in this great place we call home. Remember to have fun and be safe! Happy Independence Day!
