One of the things I love about old homes is that they can have the most beautiful details but also the most peculiar layouts. The bungalow at 2827 S 1000 E. The front door, fireplace, built-ins, windows and hardware were so, so lovely. The upstairs also had fir floors. I love fir floors. They are so pretty. They are a softer wood so they scratch easier. I think that that gives them such a unique patina though that I can forgive them for being soft. The downside of this one is that the staircase and finished attic made the home almost unlivable to anyone taller than me (I’m 5’2”, a total shorty).
