February Activities In and Around Salt Lake City
/We are still in the throes of winter. Yay (sarcasm font). But that doesn't mean we have to stay holed up in our houses. There are still plenty of things to do in this great town of ours. Here are a few ideas:
1. Harlem Globetrotters 2017 World Tour
The Harlem Globetrotters are here on February 6th at the Vivint Smart Home Arena. Ticket prices run between $20-$135. Get more info below.
2. Salt Lake Running Company RUN SLC Race Series
I've written about Salt Lake Running Company before they put on well organized, fun runs. This winter they are doing a run series to gear up for the spring running season. The first run is a 5K on February 5th. Next is a 10K in March and a 15K in April. You can register for any or all of the races at the below link.
3. Winter Palooza at the South Towne Expo Center
The Utah Kids Club is putting on a Winter Palooza on Saturday February 4th from 10-8pm Their all inclusive tickets for ages 2 and up are $12. I'll put a link below so you can see everything that $12 covers. Some of the fun includes bounce houses, climbing walls, laser tag, face painting, animal shows, and tons more.
4. Intro to Fine Chocolate Tasting Class
Tony Caputo's Market and Deli (just typing that made me hungry) offers an Intro to Fine Chocolate Tasting class periodically. They are having one on February 7th and another on the 22nd. It costs $25 and teaches how to identify flavors, get familiarized with great chocolate makers, and other priceless bits of chocolate know-how. And this is just one of the many classes they offer. Sign up at the link below.
5. The Wiz
The JAKS Youth Theatre Company is presenting "The Wiz" musical at the Jeanne Wagner Theater downtown February 17-25. It's a family friendly event and theatre lovers of all ages are invited.
6. Cirque du Soleil - OVO
The Maverik Center in West Valley will host the Cirque du Soleil show OVO from February 22-26. According to the website "OVO is teeming with life. Insects work, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy in motion. Their home is filled with biodiversity, beauty, action and moments of quiet emotion. The awestruck insects are intensely curious when a mysterious egg appears, representing the enigma and cycles of their lives." Get tickets below.
One of the reasons I love living here in Salt Lake is that even though we are not a big city, there is still always so much to do. Get out there and have some fun!
