April 2017 Events and Activities in Salt Lake City

I've really begun to enjoy compiling these activities each month. I will confess that spring is in my blood right now so this month started to have a bit of a theme. Don't worry, I didn't go crazy and not everything is flower or Easter related.

1. Red Butte Garden Orchid Show

On April 1st and 2nd Red Butte Garden is hosting The Utah Orchid Society's Orchid Show. It's the largest orchid display in Utah and will showcase both common and exotic varieties. Tips on taking care of these plants will be shared and plants and pottery will be available for purchase.

2. Beer and Ballet - April 6, 2017

On Thursday April 6th at Capitol Theatre,  Ballet West will host this fun party with beer, food and showcase a sneak preview of their production of Journey's and Reflections. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door. Journey's and Reflections will run April 7-15.

3. Thanksgiving Point Annual Tulip Festival

Thanksgiving Point's 13th Tulip Festival starts on April 7th and runs until May 6th. There will be 280,000 tulips in hundreds of varieties and 15 different themed gardens. This year for the first time they are also offering guests the chance to cut their own tulips from a special area. Beyond just seeing the flowers there are race events, concerts, dances and more throughout the festival. Check it out at the link below.

4. Thanksgiving Point Easter Eggstreme

Also at Thanksgiving Point from 10-2 on April 15th is the Easter Eggstreme. This event features egg hunts every half hour, inflatables, face painting, the cow train and meeting the Easter Bunny. Tickets are $10 for kids and $6 for adults. Thanksgiving Point members do get a discount.

5. Eggs Legs 5K at Gardner Village

Sticking with the Easter theme for a moment, lets talk about the Eggs Legs 5k at Gardner Village on April 15th. This is an Easter themed race and they are encouraging runners to decorate their shirts like Easter eggs or dress like a bunny. The course even has prize eggs hidden along the way. Kids run free with an adult.

6. Yalecrest 2017 Historic Homes Tour

The Utah Heritage Foundation, now called Preservation Utah, has held tours of historic homes in different Utah neighborhoods since 1971. This year's tour is in the Douglas Park subdivision of Yalecrest. For $20 you can see some of these amazingly beautiful homes with your own eyes. Get your tickets at the link below.

That's my very non-exhaustive list of events and activities here in Salt Lake in the month of April. And as always, give me a call for any and all of your real estate needs.
