July Events In Salt Lake City

I know many of the activities we do in July here in Salt Lake City revolve around the two holidays this month - Independence Day and Pioneer Day. For my round up of fun for this month I tried to pick things that had nothing to do with those holidays. I half succeeded.

1. Balloon Fest

July 2-4 from 6-8am is the 34th annual Balloon Fest in Provo. It's part of the America's Freedom Festival at Provo. This is a free event where you can watch the balloons inflate starting at 6 am and then watch them fly afterwards. The balloon pilots also compete in competitions while flying!

2. Saturday's Voyeur

Each year Salt Lake Acting Company presents "Saturday's Voyeur," a satire of the "bizarre realities of this place we lovingly call home." This is the 40th year for the play. It runs fro June 27th until September 2nd.

3. Eat Drink SLC

This is a foodie fundraiser at Tracy Aviary on July 12th. It's an adults only event that lets you sample food from many restaurants and libations from many of our local distilleries and brewers. Proceeds raised at the event benefit many local non-profits.

4. Indian Food Fair

This fair is at the Gallivan Center on July 21st. It's free to get in and they will have all kinds of activities that will teach out about the Indian culture - food, shopping, music, dancing, yoga and more.

5. Days of '47 Parade

This one is totally holiday related, but I couldn't help myself. I love this parade. It's so fun! It's on July 24th and goes through much of Downtown ending at Liberty Park.
