August 2019 Events In Salt Lake City

If you’re anything like us, you are serious about eking out the last drops of summer fun during the month of August. It feels like school starts earlier and earlier every year and we have to be deliberate about getting in all the fun we can before the routine of the school year begins again. Here are a few things that may help capture that fun.

1. Hale Center Theatre presents Freaky Friday

Disney has taken their near classic movie and turned it into a stage musical. It will be performed at Hale Center Theatre in Sandy from June 17th through August 24th. You can get all the details and tickets at the link below.

2. 11th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival

This year the festival is August 9th through 11th. There will be “over 250 local artisans, DIY engineers, vintage vendors, and craft food creators, the Google Fiber STEM Building, two stages of music and dance performances, and local food trucks.” For more info, click below.

3. Red Butte Gardens Outdoor Concert Series

Red Butte Gardens is always doing something fun. In the summer they host their annual Summer Concert Series and there are 10 different shows in the month of August. Get all the details below.

4. Ogden Valley Balloon & Artist Festival

This Festival runs from August 16-18 in Eden, UT. According to the website, “the event features approximately 15 hot air balloons which are the focus for 5 launches and one balloon glow throughout the weekend. After the morning launches, the activities shift to Tethered Balloon Rides, Arts & Crafts Booths, Food Booths, Kids Games & Activities and continuous live entertainment with many performers. There are free concerts at Eden Park Friday and Saturday.” Click below for more info.
