Salt Lake City Real Estate Heartbeat January 2016

The real estate market in Salt Lake City continues to be a Seller's market. According the the Wasatch Front Regional MLS there is currently just under 4 months of housing inventory on the market. This is atypical for the winter months in Salt Lake City. Normally we see the number of homes on the market rise a bit as buyer traffic drops off during the cold months. 

The report from the December 2015 Realtors Confidence Index Survey shows that nationwide agents are reporting very strong buyer traffic coupled with weak seller traffic. This condition is causing this seller's market.

This condition also explains why the median days on the market is still 30 days here in Utah. That beats the rest of the country. It's right around 58 days. I've said it before, but it absolutely bears repeating, it is a great time to sell your home. There are buyers out there ready to buy your house quickly and for a good price. You don't need to wait for spring.
